Meet Michelle! Michelle Scott-Reed works in our Human Resources department as the Benefits/Leave of Absence Manager and has been with Goodwill Columbus for 9 years this September!
Michelle obtained her bachelor’s degree in business administration from Ohio Dominican University and began working in HR shortly after graduation.
When her previous company outsourced her department, a former employee saw Michelle’s name on a temp website and requested that Goodwill bring her in to interview for a position that was soon to be vacated. The rest is history! Michelle’s career at Goodwill ignited when she was given the opportunity to create something that was important to her.
“When I came to Goodwill, our benefits were outsourced and I was given the opportunity to bring it in-house and make it my own. I was able to create a more personable experience with our employees to ensure that they received the best serve,” said Michelle.
In her role as the Benefits/Leave of Absence Manager, Michelle oversees all benefits (medical, vision, dental, 403(b), etc.), manages all vendor relationships, and works closely with our brokers to ensure our employees get the best experience when using our benefits.
Michelle notes that working with our employees is her favorite part of her role and is looking forward to continuing to provide the best benefits available to our employees and seeing increased engagement with our Wellness programs that we offer!
