Meet Ayisha! Ayisha is the Human Resources Leave & Benefits Administrator and will celebrate her first work anniversary at the end of January!
When asked what brought her to Goodwill Columbus, Ayisha stated, “the Goodwill Columbus mission, creating a positive impact, and the never-ending focus on the power of work.”
Ayisha arrived at Goodwill with an array of experience in Legal Compliance and Risk (LC&R), seeking a career pivot in Human Resources. During her career in LC&R, Ayisha also served as Learning Coach for the 2022-2024 New Hire Training Program. In this role, she assisted with all New Hire Onboarding tasks and facilitated in-person and virtual training courses. In 2024, Ayisha completed her Society for Human Resource Management-Certified Professional credential while volunteering as a recruiter with the American Red Cross (Central Ohio Chapter)!
In her current role of HR Leave & Benefits Administrator, Ayisha helps employees and leadership in engaging in the Leave of Absence process. These leave types include FMLA, Short-Term Disability, PLAs (Personal Leave of Absence), and engaging in ADA/Workplace Accommodations, to name a few! Ayisha’s day-to-day tasks include reaching out to employees to offer solutions, speaking with managers to provide support, and collaborating with our broader HR team to ensure a cohesive process.
When asked what was her favorite part of her role, Ayisha said, “offering support during times of uncertainty. To offer kindness and guidance during what is typically considered a medically challenging time in one’s life, truly gives me a sense of purpose. Everyday I’m reminded of the small, yet pivotal role I play in Goodwill’s focus to help individuals reach their full potential while eliminating barriers along the way.”
In 2026, Ayisha is looking forward to helping administer Goodwill’s Wellness Programs! The importance of preventive care and personal health and wellness makes an enormous difference in one’s quality of life.
