For over a decade, Andrea has flourished at Goodwill Columbus, a place she describes as a “second home” defined by its close-knit family feel. These strong connections power her busy schedule as she balances creative work in the Art Studio with community-based activities.

Two days a week, Andrea can be found in the Studio, where she uses her creativity as a vital outlet for stress relief and self-expression. She is a multi-talented artist, often seen working with crochet needles or acrylic paint markers. Currently, she is putting the finishing touches on a beautiful handcrafted scarf, and her artwork frequently features the delicate details of butterflies and cicadas.

When she isn’t creating visual art, Andrea is busy telling her own story. Since 2011, she has been working on an autobiography titled The Life of Living Drama Queen. The project began after a friend encouraged her to write down her life experiences. With the support of staff, Andrea is dedicated to finishing her book and hopes to see it published and sold one day.

Andrea’s life is full of connection and service. On Mondays and Fridays, she is out in the community with Goodwill staff, volunteering for cat welfare and playing Bingo at the Senior Center. Even on her “off” days, she stays busy running errands with her home support team. Whether she is writing, crocheting, or giving back to others, Andrea’s journey is a wonderful example of how creativity and community come together.
