In an Emergency, visiting the hospital emergency room (ER) is usually the right choice. But what about when it’s not an emergency? Knowing your healthcare options can make a big difference in cost $$ and time.
If it’s truly not an Emergency, here are some ways you can get help:
- Contact your regular (Primary Care) doctor, or visit an alternate care facility, such as a retail (Pharmacy or Grocery Store) based health clinic or an Urgent Care center.
- Check the back of your medical ID card for the phone number to a 24/7 Nurseline. Often, a registered nurse can provide you with self-care options, that can assist you until you are able to see your Primary Care doctor.
- For more “Urgent” issues, a registered nurse can also help you decide on where to go for “Urgent” healthcare needs.
- For Goodwill employees that are enrolled in United Healthcare’s Medical coverage, your “Quick Care” options can be found here: What Are My UHC Quick Care Options?
