Do you know the difference between Urgent Care Centers and Freestanding ERs ? Knowing your options can save you money $$
Urgent Care centers and freestanding ERs’ may be hard to tell apart. But freestanding ER costs are usually HIGHER, just as if you went to an ER at a hospital.
***Here are some ways to know if you are at a Freestanding ER**
Freestanding ER’s:
- Have ”Emergency” in their name.
- Are not located at a hospital.
- Can look like an Urgent Care center but in reality, be a Freestanding ER.
- Are open 24 hours a day, Seven days a week.
- May charge the same copay as a hospital ER.
Remember: for Serious, life-threatening medical conditions, you need “Emergency” care. You should go to the nearest treatment facility or call 911 for your local Emergency services.
For Non-Life-Threatening medical conditions, save your time and your money $$ by taking a brief moment to think of your “Lower Costs” Healthcare Options first.
