Every Friday, the Goodwill Art Studio has been a little brighter thanks to Ella Mae. A dedicated artist who finds inspiration “straight from her head,” Ella Mae has become a staple of our creative community.
Ella Mae has a very specific artistic vision. While an observer might see a beautiful arrangement of abstract geometry and bold shapes, Ella Mae calls these vibrant compositions her “Rainbows.” Using a mix of colored pencils and markers, she fills her drawing paper with a variety of colors to bring these unique, structured rainbows to life.
For Ella Mae, the studio is about more than just art; it’s about the people. Whether she’s sharing a laugh with her good friends Andrea, Jane, Helen, and Charlotte, or working alongside staff members like Colleen (who also helps with her Friday transportation), she feels right at home. “Goodwill has really nice people,” she says, noting how much she loves the supportive environment created by the team.
When she isn’t at the studio, Ella Mae lives in her apartment in Whitehall. She loves being in the same building as her friends, where she spends her time binging Netflix and enjoying her favorite foods: chicken and pizza!
We are so proud to be part of Ella Mae’s creative journey. Her abstract “rainbows” remind us all that art is about how you see the world!
